2 3 The Euclid Public Library Board of Trustees approved our 2017 – 2020 Strategic Plan at the end of 2016. Over the past 20 months, library staff has been working hard to complete the action steps and achieve our goals of Cultivate Discovery and Learning, Engage and Support the Community, and Foster a Welcoming Environment. To see the completed steps, visit the Strategic Planning page of our website at euclidlibrary.org/about/plan. Part of our plan includes offering new programs, resources, and services. Through our many partnerships and with the support of the Friends of the Library and the Euclid Public Library Foundation, you will note a variety of new offerings this fall. Library patrons throughout the state of Ohio now have access to several new databases, including ProQuest African American Heritage, Chilton Library, Fold3, Small Business Reference Center, Transparent Languages, and Lynda.com. Lynda.com contains over 6,600 courses and more that 216,000 video tutorials on a variety of subjects. Euclid patrons can also access NewsBank, which offers the full text of the Cleveland Plain Dealer from 1991 to the present. The library will offer a number of different programs this fall, including Breakfast with the Euclid Schools’ Superintendent on September 20, Friends of the Library Annual Meeting with “Pretty Boy” Floyd on September 27, Indie Author Day on October 13, and the Foundation-sponsored Giving Tuesday on November 27. All library programs are free and open to the public. In addition, books, magazines, music, and movies are available in print and electronic format. We also offer mobile hotspots, Flipster online magazine service, scanning, faxing, and copying. Congratulations to Board Trustee Jerry McPherson on his re-appointment to the Euclid Library Board of Trustees. Euclid School District Board Members approved his term at their June 11 regular Board meeting. This will be a second 7-year term for Trustee McPherson and we truly appreciate his dedication and service to the library and our community. Kacie V.
