Indie Author Day

Today is Indie Author Day, a day to celebrate the talents and efforts of independent authors.  Whether you are a writer yourself or would like to support budding authors, you are welcome to join us.  Today’s speaker is Everett Prewitt, award-winning author of Snake Walkers and A Long Way Back, who will speak about the writing experience.  This will be followed by an Open House where local authors can showcase and sell their books.

Friends of the Library Annual Meeting featuring Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd

Join the Friends of the Library for their annual meeting with living history performer Ken Hammontree. Ken brings history alive to audiences all across the state and tonight he presents Charles Arthur “Pretty Boy” Floyd.  An American bank robber who operated in the Midwest, Floyd’s his criminal exploits gained heavy press coverage in the 1930s, and he remains a familiar figure in American popular culture.
