History of Jazz

Join Dr. Joel Keller as he takes on a tour of the history of jazz music. We will listen to music from New Orleans to Kansas City to both coasts whose influence has spread worldwide. The Doc of Rock and Roll has delivered dozens of talks on music throughout Northeast Ohio since September 2013. His trip to EPL is sure to have you wanting to tap your toes and pirouette around the room!

Women in History: Bessie Coleman

Have lunch with our Friends of the Library and Aviatrix Bessie Coleman.  Bessie was the first woman of African-American and Native American descent to hold a pilot’s license.  Barred from flight school in the U.S, Bessie worked hard and saved her money to attend school in France. Her achievement serves as an inspiration to women to follow their dreams.  Meet Bessie courtesy of Women in History.

Tickets are available in the library beginning Monday, February 19 for $12/members and $15/nonmembers.
